Here’s how to make a refreshing and flavorful Bibim Guksu using ready-made cold noodle broth. This recipe is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal, especially on hot summer days. Enjoy the delicious combination of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors!
Main Ingredients- Somyeon (thin wheat noodles) 240g (for 2 servings)
- Store-bought Cold Noodle Broth 300g (1 pack)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully check and prepare all the ingredients needed for the dish. For the somyeon, 240g is a good amount for two servings. If using store-bought cold noodle broth, one pack (approximately 300g) is the perfect quantity.
Step 2
Bring a generous amount of water to a rolling boil in a large pot or wok. Once boiling, add the somyeon noodles. Cook for approximately 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Be careful not to overcook the noodles, as they can become mushy. Using a timer is recommended for the best chewy texture.
Step 3
Drain the cooked noodles in a colander and immediately rinse them thoroughly under cold running water. This rinsing step removes excess starch, resulting in a chewier texture and perfectly firm noodles.
Step 4
Now, let’s make the delicious bibim sauce! In a mixing bowl, combine gochugaru (1 Tbsp), gochujang (3 Tbsp), sugar (1 Tbsp), vinegar (2 Tbsp), oligodang (2.5 Tbsp), minced garlic (1 Tbsp), and the store-bought cold noodle broth (300g). Whisk everything together until well combined. Finally, add the whole sesame seeds (1 Tbsp) for extra aroma. Stir until all ingredients are smoothly incorporated.
Step 5
Divide the drained cooked somyeon noodles equally into two serving bowls. Portioning them out ensures an even distribution for both servings.
Step 6
Finally, generously spoon the prepared bibim sauce over the somyeon in each bowl. Mix well and enjoy your delicious, sweet, tangy, and refreshing Bibim Guksu made with cold noodle broth!
