Washing the blueberries thoroughly is key for freshness. Place the blueberries in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and let them sit for about 3 minutes. Then, gently rinse them under running water, rubbing each berry softly with your fingers as if you’re polishing them. Continue rinsing for 1-2 minutes until they feel clean and slightly firm to the touch for optimal cleanliness.
