Inspired by mouthwatering cheese gratin photos, I wanted to create a unique corn toast piled high with generous amounts of 3-layer cheese and sweet corn. This toast offers a delightful contrast of crispy exterior and moist interior, with the savory cheese and sweet corn creating a flavor combination loved by all ages. It’s so simple to make, perfect for breakfast or a quick snack!
Main Ingredients- 1 slice of 3-layer cheese
- 1 slice of bread (such as sandwich bread or brioche, your preference)
- 3 Tbsp canned sweet corn
- 15g mayonnaise (approx. 1 Tbsp)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Gather all the ingredients for your delicious corn toast. You can adjust the amount of sweet corn to your liking, but be mindful that using too much might make the toast soggy or overpower the flavor with sweetness. If using canned corn, make sure to drain it thoroughly to remove excess liquid.
Step 2
Using a piping bag, pipe a border of mayonnaise around the edge of your bread slice. This mayonnaise border acts as a barrier to prevent the toppings from spilling out. If you don’t have a piping bag, you can use a spoon or a fork to create the border.
Step 3
Now, carefully fill the center of the bread, enclosed by the mayonnaise border, with the prepared sweet corn. Distribute the corn kernels evenly for a visually appealing and tasty filling.
Step 4
Finally, top the sweet corn with the 3-layer cheese slice. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) for 8 minutes, then bake for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is beautifully melted and golden brown.
