Enjoy a delightful ham cheese toast made with simple ingredients! Dipped in egg and pan-fried until golden, it transforms into a warm Monte Cristo sandwich with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. It’s ideal as a satisfying snack, a lovely brunch, or a quick meal on busy mornings. ^^
Ingredients- 9 slices of bread (using thicker bread makes it even more delicious)
- 6 slices of cheese
- 12 slices of ham (choose your favorite kind)
- 3 eggs
- 3 pinches of salt
- Jam or your favorite spread, as needed
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients carefully to make a delicious ham cheese toast.
Step 2
Take 3 slices of bread. First, spread a thin layer of jam (or your preferred spread) on one side of two of the bread slices. Be mindful not to use too much jam, as it can spill out during cooking.
Step 3
On the jam-spread bread slices, layer 2 slices of cheese and 2 slices of ham. Then, top with another slice of bread that has jam spread on one side to create a sandwich. Repeat this process three times to make a total of three sandwiches.

Set the assembled sandwiches aside for a moment. In a mixing bowl, crack the 3 eggs and add the 3 pinches of salt. Whisk them together until well combined and smooth, ensuring there are no lumps.

Dip each assembled sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are thoroughly coated. Allow the bread to soak up the egg mixture generously so that the exterior becomes nice and moist when cooked. Be careful not to make the bread too soggy; slightly thicker bread slices can soak for a bit longer.
