  • 2 Tbsp Furikake (Japanese rice seasoning)

Seasoning

  • 0.5 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the mentaiko. Carefully cut the mentaiko in half lengthwise. Then, using the back of a knife, gently scrape the roe out of the membrane. Be gentle to avoid breaking the delicate roe.

Step 1

Step 2

To the extracted mentaiko roe, add 0.5 Tbsp of sugar and mix gently. The sugar will balance the saltiness of the mentaiko, creating a wonderful sweet and savory flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, spread the prepared mentaiko mixture evenly onto the tortillas. Make sure to cover the entire surface so you get that delicious mentaiko flavor in every bite.

Step 3

Step 4

Sprinkle 2 Tbsp of furikake over the mentaiko-covered tortillas. The diverse flavors and aromas of the furikake will add a rich complexity to the taste.

Step 4

Step 5

[For Air Fryer Method] Cut each tortilla into 8 equal wedges. This shape makes them easy to bake and eat.

Step 5

Step 6

Place the tortilla wedges in the air fryer and cook at 170-180°C (340-355°F) for about 5 minutes. Cook until golden and crispy for perfectly delicious mentaiko tortilla chips. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Step 6

Step 7

[For Pan-Frying Method] Lightly oil a frying pan with 1 Tbsp of cooking oil and heat over low heat. Place the prepared tortillas in the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Be careful with the heat to avoid burning.

Step 7

Step 8
