Nutty almonds! They can be a bit polarizing, can’t they? (I personally love them!) I’ve been pondering ways to make almonds enjoyable for those who aren’t big fans. That’s how I came up with these delightful Honey Almonds, which even almond skeptics can enjoy. They’re incredibly easy to make and perfect for a quick snack or a delightful dessert. Get ready to win over some almond-averse friends!
Ingredients- About 6 raw almonds
- Honey (enough to coat the almonds)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully slice the almonds in half using a knife. Using scissors can cause the pieces to scatter, so a knife is a much cleaner approach! Slice them to your desired thickness.
Step 2
Spoon a small amount of honey into a small dish or bowl. You’ll only need enough to lightly coat the almonds.
Step 3
Dip the tip of a wooden chopstick into the honey, then gently spread it onto the cut surface of the almonds. Spreading it evenly is key for good adhesion.
Step 4
Place another almond half on top of the honey-coated almond, creating a sandwich-like treat. It’s like a little honey-infused almond sandwich!
Step 5
Place the assembled honey almonds in the freezer for about 30 minutes to chill and firm up. This helps the honey set nicely, ensuring the almond pieces stick together and creating a satisfyingly crisp texture.
Step 6
Remove the chilled honey almonds from the freezer and enjoy! For an extra touch of sweetness and crunch, you can lightly sprinkle sugar over the assembled almonds before they are fully set. They are delicious to eat immediately or make a wonderful homemade gift. ♥︎
