A dear friend gifted me some delicious frozen croissant dough to try! Taking this opportunity, I decided to make a special dessert by topping it with fragrant strawberries and sweet whipped cream. I highly recommend you try this too!

Don’t worry if you’re baking croissant dough for the first time! Instead of baking it directly from frozen, let the thawed dough rest at room temperature for about 3-4 hours. It will naturally proof and puff up to nearly three times its original size, creating a wonderfully airy texture.

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the proofed croissant dough on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 10 minutes. For an extra golden and crispy exterior, you can brush the dough with an egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of milk) before baking. This will give your croissants a beautiful sheen and crunch. (Tip: If you forget the egg wash, it’s still delicious!)

Once the croissants are beautifully baked, let them cool completely on a wire rack. Then, using a sharp serrated knife, carefully slice each croissant in half horizontally. You’ll reveal the soft and moist interior.
