3-Minute Recipe for Delicious Stir-Fried Dried Shredded Squid
Here’s a super simple side dish that’s satisfying to have on hand. It’s quick to make and perfect for any meal.
Main Ingredients- 300g dried shredded squid
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Hello everyone! Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a really simple yet delicious side dish: stir-fried dried shredded squid. This is a super-speedy recipe that only takes about 3 to 5 minutes to make.
Step 2
First, cut the dried shredded squid into manageable pieces. If they’re too long, they can be difficult to stir-fry or eat, so cutting them into about 5-7 cm lengths is ideal.
Step 3
Lightly grease a frying pan with oil and heat it over low heat. Add the prepared shredded squid. Stir-fry for just a moment, until about half of the squid pieces start to curl slightly. The most crucial point here is to not overcook the squid; just give it a quick stir and then turn off the heat. This ensures it remains tender when you add the seasoning later.
Step 4
If you like, add a pinch of toasted sesame seeds now. This adds a nice nutty aroma.
Step 5
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar to adjust the sweetness. Feel free to add a little more if you prefer a sweeter taste.
Step 6
Finally, add 1 teaspoon of soy sauce as measured. Now, turn the heat back on to very low. Stir-fry quickly for about 40 seconds to 1 minute, just until the squid is evenly coated with the seasoning and becomes completely tender and curled. Be careful not to overcook, as this can make the squid chewy. A quick stir-fry like this completes your super simple dried shredded squid dish!
Step 7
And there you have it – your delicious stir-fried dried shredded squid is ready! It makes an excellent side dish when served over warm rice.
