A delightful cake perfect for kids, easily made at home using just your electric rice cooker. It’s a simple and delicious treat!
Main Ingredients- 1 packet of pre-made steamed cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups milk (or water)

Step 1
First, crack 3 eggs into a mixing bowl. Whisk them thoroughly until well combined. Ensuring there’s no eggy smell is a key to a delicious cake.

Add the entire packet of steamed cake mix to the beaten eggs. Gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; stopping when you no longer see dry powder will result in a softer cake.

Gradually pour in 2 cups (approximately 400ml) of milk or water while mixing to achieve the right batter consistency. It should be similar to a thin pancake batter. You might need to adjust the liquid amount slightly depending on the cake mix brand.

Carefully pour the prepared cake batter into the inner pot of your electric rice cooker. Gently shake the pot to ensure the batter spreads evenly.

If desired, sprinkle chopped walnuts or other nuts over the top of the batter for decoration. Then, close the rice cooker lid, select the ‘Steam’ or ‘Multi-Cook’ function, and steam for 15 minutes. (Cooking time and settings may vary depending on your rice cooker model).

Once the steaming cycle is complete, carefully open the rice cooker. You can test for doneness by inserting a skewer or toothpick; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Gently remove the steamed cake from the pot and transfer it to a plate or cooling rack to cool slightly.
