Main Ingredients- 100g Somyeon noodles (per serving)
Golden Ratio Sauce- 1.3 Tbsp Jin Ganjang (Korean soy sauce)
- 1/3 Tbsp Vinegar (for a touch of tanginess)
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar (sweetness adjustable)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame seeds, ground (for nutty flavor)
- 1/2 Tbsp Sesame oil (for rich aroma)
- 1.3 Tbsp Jin Ganjang (Korean soy sauce)
- 1/3 Tbsp Vinegar (for a touch of tanginess)
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar (sweetness adjustable)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame seeds, ground (for nutty flavor)
- 1/2 Tbsp Sesame oil (for rich aroma)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Bring a generous amount of water to a rolling boil. Add the somyeon noodles and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent them from sticking together. (It’s best to refer to the cooking time specified on the noodle package.)
Step 2
Once the noodles are cooked, drain them using a colander. Immediately rinse them under cold running water. This step removes excess starch, resulting in perfectly chewy and springy noodles.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, combine the Jin Ganjang (soy sauce), vinegar, sugar, and ground sesame seeds. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved. (We’ll add the sesame oil at the very end!)
Step 4
Add the drained, cooked somyeon noodles to the bowl with the sauce. Gently toss and mix until the noodles are evenly coated with the delicious dressing.
Step 5
Finally, drizzle in the sesame oil for that wonderful aroma and give it one last gentle mix. Your flavorful Soy Sauce Bibim Guksu is ready! Feel free to adjust the amount of each sauce ingredient to your personal preference for the perfect taste.
Step 6
Carefully plate the finished Bibim Guksu in a serving bowl. A generous mound of noodles makes it look even more appetizing.
Step 7
For an enhanced experience, consider adding toppings such as well-fermented kimchi, crispy seaweed flakes, or a delicate egg garnish or a hard-boiled egg. Enjoy your delicious and satisfying meal!
