This Sari Gomtang Budae Jjigae recipe is inspired by Chef Ryoo Su-young from the TV show ‘Pyeonstorang’. It’s incredibly simple to make but bursting with deep, rich flavors, making it a family favorite. Main Ingredients- 1 can Spam (400g)
- 4 Frank sausages
- 1/4 head Cabbage
- 1/2 stalk Green onion
- 1/2 Onion
- 3 Tbsp Baked beans
- 2 Tbsp Ketchup
- 1 pack Sari Gomtang noodles
- 3 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 slice Processed cheese
Budae Jjigae Seasoning- 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp Fish sauce (anchovy)
- 1 Tbsp Soy sauce
- A pinch of Sugar (adjust to taste)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Cut the frank sausages in half crosswise.

Then, slice them lengthwise with the cut side facing up. This shape allows them to absorb the sauce better, making them tastier.

Remove the Spam from its can and cut it into bite-sized pieces, about 1.5 cm thick. Be careful not to break the Spam while slicing.

Cut the processed cheese slices diagonally for a visually appealing presentation. They’ll look beautiful when added to the stew.

Peel the onion and slice it into thin strips, about 0.5 cm wide.

Cut the green onion into three large sections, then slice each section lengthwise a couple more times to create chunky pieces. This prevents them from falling apart during cooking, maintaining a pleasant texture.
