Key Ingredients for One-Pan Toast- 2 fresh eggs
- 1 slice of soft bread (Tangzhong bread recommended!)
- 2 slices of savory cheese
- A pinch of salt for flavor
- 1 Tbsp sugar for sweetness
- A small amount of carrot (finely chopped)
- A small amount of imitation crab meat (finely chopped)
- A small amount of chives (finely chopped)
- Tabasco sauce (optional, for a kick)
- Sweet condensed milk (optional, for sweetness)
- Olive oil
- Ketchup
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully crack 2 fresh eggs into a clean glass bowl. Using fresh eggs will result in a more delicious toast.
Step 2
Add a tiny pinch of salt to enhance the flavor, and then add 1 tablespoon of sugar for a touch of sweetness. The balance of salty and sweet is superb!
Step 3
Using a whisk or a fork, beat the eggs thoroughly until the yolks and whites are well combined. Whisking until a slight froth forms will make it even better.
Step 4
Now, let’s prepare the vegetables and imitation crab meat to add color and flavor to your toast! Finely chop a small amount of carrot, imitation crab meat, and chives. The carrot adds crunch, the imitation crab meat adds umami, and the chives contribute a fresh aroma.
Step 5
Add the finely chopped carrot, imitation crab meat, and chives to the beaten eggs and mix them evenly. Ensure the ingredients are well coated in the egg mixture.
Step 6
Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of olive oil. Then, pour the egg and vegetable mixture from the glass bowl directly into the pan. Gently tilt the pan to spread it evenly.
Step 7
While the egg mixture is starting to cook, prepare your slice of bread. Fold the bread into a square shape over the egg mixture, as if tucking it into a cozy egg blanket.
Step 8
It’s time to toast the bread! I’m using Tangzhong bread for its chewy texture, but any bread will work wonderfully!
Step 9
This particular slice of Tangzhong bread is quite large, so one piece is enough to create a satisfying brunch.
Step 10
Toast the side of the bread that’s touching the pan until golden brown. Adding a pat of butter to the pan at this stage will make the bread even more fragrant and delicious. Toast both sides until golden.
Step 11
Prepare 2 slices of cheese to add a creamy, savory element.
Step 12
Place the 2 slices of cheese neatly on top of the bread, which has been toasted in butter. The melting cheese will add a wonderfully soft texture and flavor.
Step 13
Now, carefully place the folded and cooked egg mixture onto the bread with the cheese. Your delicious One-Pan Toast is almost complete!
Step 14
Finally, let’s add some finishing touches with sauces! I noticed some sweet condensed milk in the fridge and decided to drizzle it over. Kids absolutely love this!
Step 15
Add a few drops of Tabasco sauce for a hint of spicy tang that cuts through the richness. Feel free to add more if you enjoy a spicier kick.
Step 16
Drizzle ketchup to your liking for a sweet and tangy finish. Now your One-Pan Toast has both a beautiful appearance and a fantastic taste!
Step 17
Voilà! Your appetizing and delicious One-Pan Toast is finally ready. Enjoy a hearty and delightful brunch!
