Fried Rice Ingredients- 1 Tbsp minced garlic (chop coarsely for texture)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 10 cocktail shrimp (thawed)
- 1/2 bag bean sprouts (approx. 50g)
- 2 bowls cooked rice (warm)
- 2 eggs
- Scallions (chopped, for garnish)
Nasi Goreng Seasoning- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (like mirin or sake)
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (like mirin or sake)
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp sugar
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the coarsely minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. You want a nice garlic aroma to develop.
Step 2
Once the garlic is fragrant, add the cocktail shrimp to the pan and stir-fry together. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are almost cooked through.
Step 3
Prepare the Nasi Goreng sauce by combining the seasoning ingredients in a small bowl. Mix 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of cooking wine, 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper, and 0.5 teaspoon of sugar until well combined.
Step 4
Pour the prepared Nasi Goreng sauce into the pan with the shrimp and garlic. Stir-fry everything together, allowing the sauce to coat the ingredients and slightly thicken.
Step 5
Add 2 bowls of warm cooked rice and the rinsed and drained bean sprouts to the pan. Use a spatula to gently break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry, ensuring the rice, sprouts, and sauce are evenly mixed.
Step 6
While the rice and sprouts are cooking, push the ingredients to one side of the pan to create space. Crack the 2 eggs into the empty space and scramble them until just cooked. Then, gently mix the scrambled eggs into the fried rice.
Step 7
Give everything one final stir-fry to combine all the ingredients. Your delicious Nasi Goreng is ready! For an extra touch, garnish with chopped scallions. Serve immediately and enjoy this flavorful fried rice!
