Main Ingredients- 3 fresh eggs
- 2 store-bought meat patties
- A moderate amount of carrot (approx. 20g)
- 1 Korean green chili pepper (Cheongyang pepper)
- 3 tablespoons milk (45ml)
Seasoning- 4 pinches of salt
- A dash of black pepper
- 3 soju cups of water (approx. 180ml)
- 4 pinches of salt
- A dash of black pepper
- 3 soju cups of water (approx. 180ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare a wide and deep bowl. Crack 3 fresh eggs into the bowl. Make sure to break them gently.
Step 2
Wash the Korean green chili pepper, slice it in half lengthwise, remove the seeds, and then mince it very finely. If you like it spicier, you can leave some of the seeds in. Wash and peel the carrot, then finely mince it using a peeler or a knife. Chop the store-bought meat patties into small, bite-sized pieces (about 1cm) and add them to the bowl along with the other ingredients.
Step 3
Now it’s time to add the seasonings that will give the steamed egg its delicious flavor. Add 4 pinches of fine salt and a dash of black pepper. Pour in 3 tablespoons of milk to add tenderness. (You can also substitute milk with water or anchovy broth).
Step 4
Whisk the ingredients in the bowl together with chopsticks or a whisk until well combined. Stir until the eggs are smoothly beaten without any lumps. Then, pour in 3 soju cups of water and gently stir with a quick ‘whee-lik~’ motion to mix everything thoroughly. Be careful not to over-whisk, as this can create too much foam.
Step 5
Now, prepare a microwave-safe dish. You can use a regular glass container, a microwave-safe plastic container, or even a microwave-safe earthenware pot. Pour the prepared egg mixture into the dish. Cover it with plastic wrap, but leave a small opening at one corner or poke a few holes with a chopstick to allow steam to escape. Microwave for about 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, carefully remove the dish, and gently stir the mixture from the bottom up with a spoon to ensure even cooking. Re-cover with plastic wrap and microwave for another 3 minutes. Your jiggly and tender steamed eggs will be ready! Be cautious as it will be hot. Enjoy your delicious creation!
