Step 1
First, crack 1 egg into a wide bowl. Add a pinch of salt for seasoning. For an even smoother texture, you can strain the egg mixture through a sieve. Whisk the egg thoroughly with a fork or whisk until no lumps remain.
Step 2
Preheat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Place one slice of bread in the pan. Using a spoon, spread the beaten egg mixture evenly over the top surface of the bread slice. Make sure to cover the edges well to prevent burning and ensure a delicious toast.

Once the egg-coated side starts to turn golden brown, carefully flip the bread slice. It’s crucial to maintain medium-low heat during this process. High heat can burn the outside before the inside is cooked.

Spread the egg mixture evenly onto the newly exposed top side of the bread, just as you did before. Now, flip the bread every 5 seconds or so, cooking both sides until they are golden brown and crispy. This repeated flipping helps the bread become extra crunchy and the egg cook through evenly.

When the bread is sufficiently golden and crispy, prepare your cheese. If using sliced cheese, cut it into manageable pieces and place them on top. If using shredded mozzarella, sprinkle it generously. The toast will become incredibly flavorful as the cheese begins to melt.

Flip the toast again so that the side with the cheese is now facing down onto the pan. This allows the cheese to melt beautifully and meld with the bread from the pan’s heat.
