Hello, I’m a bread-lover living alone! This recipe is perfectly portioned for one and incredibly simple to make. When the heat makes you lose your appetite, there’s nothing better than a quick and easy bibimbap!

Recipe Info

  • Category : Rice / Porridge / Rice cake
  • Ingredient Category : Vegetables
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Mixed (Bibim-style)
  • Servings : 1 serving
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Ingredients

  • 30g Fresh Chives (about a handful)
  • 200g Cooked Rice (1 bowl)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • A pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, thoroughly wash the chives, pat them dry, and then finely chop them into about 3-4 cm lengths. The key is to preserve their fresh, aromatic flavor!

Step 1

Step 2

Place the warm cooked rice into a serving bowl. Evenly spread the chopped chives over the top of the rice.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, let’s make a fried egg. Fry it to your liking – either sunny-side up (runny yolk) or fully cooked. Place the fried egg in the center, on top of the rice and chives. A runny yolk will add extra deliciousness!

Step 3

Step 4

Add 1 tablespoon of gochujang attractively onto the rice, chives, and egg. If you enjoy a spicier kick, feel free to add a little more.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, drizzle 2 tablespoons of savory sesame oil all around and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Now, grab your chopsticks or spoon, mix everything together, and enjoy your delicious bibimbap! It’s a satisfying and tasty meal, perfect even when you’re dining solo.
