Ingredients

  • 100g Beef Jerky (choose your favorite kind)
  • 50ml Water
  • 0.5 Tbsp Minced Garlic (approx. 5g)
  • 3 Tbsp Sugar (approx. 30g)
  • 3 Tbsp Sesame Oil (approx. 30ml)
  • 3 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste) (approx. 45g)
  • 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds (approx. 5g)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, use scissors to cut the 100g of beef jerky into small pieces. You can also use a food processor (multi-man) for a finer texture. Cutting it small will help it absorb the sauce better and result in a softer consistency.

Step 1

Step 2

Add 50ml of water to the cut beef jerky. This will help soften the jerky and prevent the sauce from burning.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, heat a pan over medium heat and start stir-frying the beef jerky with the water. This process will gradually soften the tough jerky pieces. Make sure to break apart any clumps as you stir-fry.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the beef jerky begins to soften, add 0.5 tablespoon of minced garlic. This will add a wonderful aroma that complements the rich flavor of the jerky.

Step 4

Step 5

Next, add 3 tablespoons of sugar. The sweetness balances the saltiness of the gochujang and creates a harmonious flavor profile for the sauce.

Step 5

Step 6

Continue stir-frying over medium heat. It’s important to cook until the beef jerky is completely tender and the ingredients are well combined. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Step 7

After the beef jerky is tender, drizzle in 3 tablespoons of sesame oil for a nutty aroma and richness. Adding it at this stage preserves its fragrance.

Step 7

Step 8

Now, add the star ingredient: 3 tablespoons of gochujang. The spicy and savory flavor of the gochujang will meld with the beef jerky to create an exceptional sauce. Feel free to adjust the amount to your liking.

Step 8

Step 9

After adding the gochujang, continue to stir-fry until some of the moisture evaporates, resulting in a thicker consistency. Stir well to ensure the sauce coats the jerky evenly.

Step 9

Step 10

Finally, reduce the heat to low and continue stir-frying carefully to prevent burning. This step allows the sauce to adhere to the jerky and develop a deep flavor. Keep stirring to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Step 10

Step 11

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds over the top for a final touch of nutty flavor. Your delicious Beef Jerky Gochujang sauce is ready! Serve it over warm rice and top with a soft-boiled egg for an incredibly satisfying meal.
