Super Simple Apple Anchovy Stir-Fry for Babies
The Easiest Apple Anchovy Stir-Fry Your Baby Will Love – Part 2
This is the method I used when I first made anchovy stir-fry for my child. Soaking the anchovies in cold water reduces their saltiness, and adding apple brings a delightful sweet and sour flavor. This anchovy stir-fry is excellent as a side dish, and it’s also great for making into mini rice balls for your child. Enjoy this simple yet delicious recipe!
Main Ingredients- Dried anchovies (small size) 30-50g
- Apple 1/5 piece
Seasoning- Sesame seeds 0.5 Tbsp
- Sesame seeds 0.5 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, we’ll reduce the saltiness of the anchovies. Place the dried anchovies in a bowl, pour in cold water, and soak for about 2-3 minutes. Then, drain them well using a sieve. Soaking for too long can wash away the flavor, so be mindful of the time!
Step 2
Wash the apple, peel it, and then grate it finely using a grater. The apple’s natural sweetness will add a lovely flavor to the stir-fry.
Step 3
In the grated apple, add 0.5 Tbsp of sesame seeds and mix well to create the seasoning sauce. If the apple you’re using isn’t very sweet, you can add a tiny bit of honey (about 1/4 tsp) for extra sweetness that children tend to enjoy. However, be cautious not to add too much sugar or honey, as it can cause the anchovies to burn.
Step 4
Next, heat a dry frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the drained anchovies and stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes to remove any fishy smell and make them slightly crisp. It’s important to keep stirring to prevent the anchovies from burning.
Step 5
Once the anchovies are lightly stir-fried, add the prepared apple seasoning. Stir everything together evenly for about 1-2 minutes over medium heat until well combined. That’s it! Your delicious apple anchovy stir-fry is ready. Be careful not to overcook, as it can make the anchovies too hard.
