Super Simple 4-Minute Dumpling Rice
[Mandu Bap/Jiseong Mandu Bap] Solve Your Hunger in 4 Minutes When You’re Feeling Lazy!
When you have lots of dumplings at home but are too lazy to cook, I tried making this simple dumpling rice. It’s a lifesaver for those moments when you want a quick and satisfying meal.
Dumpling Rice Ingredients- Dumplings (as many as you want to eat)
- 1 bowl of cooked rice
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the dumplings. For a delicious dumpling rice, you’ll want a generous amount of dumplings, so prepare as many as you enjoy. If you’re using 6 dumplings, place them all in a microwave-safe bowl with some depth. The type of dumpling doesn’t matter, so feel free to use any you have in your freezer!
Step 2
Now, let’s get ready to cook the dumplings. Cover the bowl with the dumplings using plastic wrap or a silicone lid. If you’re using plastic wrap, it’s a good idea to poke a few small holes in it with a fork. This helps prevent the dumplings from bursting and allows them to cook evenly, letting steam escape for moist dumplings.
Step 3
Once prepared, microwave the dumplings for 3 minutes. The cooking time might vary slightly depending on the number and size of the dumplings, so it’s okay to add another 2-3 minutes if needed until they are fully cooked. Be careful when removing the hot bowl from the microwave!
Step 4
The dumplings fresh out of the microwave will look so appetizing. You can almost smell the delicious aroma already! While they’re tasty on their own, mixing them with rice makes for an even more satisfying meal.
Step 5
Add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice directly into the bowl with the dumplings. Use a spoon to mix and mash the rice and dumplings together. The key is to mash the dumplings so their delicious filling blends evenly with the rice grains. Mix thoroughly until the rice and dumplings are nicely combined.
Step 6
Finally, drizzle 1 tablespoon of soy sauce over the dumpling rice to add flavor. Mix again thoroughly to combine the rice, dumplings, and soy sauce. You can adjust the amount of soy sauce to your taste, but it’s recommended to start with 1 tablespoon and add more after tasting. And just like that, your simple and flavorful dumpling rice is ready!
Step 7
It’s time to taste your completed dumpling rice! It might look a bit like a quick version of Japchae-bap, but the taste is surprisingly good. The dumpling filling, rice, and soy sauce come together to create a wonderful flavor. This is a fantastic recipe for busy days or when you don’t have much appetite, as it’s incredibly easy to make. Give it a try!
