Super Easy Apple Cake
10-Minute Tart-Style Apple Cake: Effortlessly Delicious!
This apple cake might not be a tart, but it tastes just like one! Amazingly simple, it takes only about 10 minutes until it’s ready to bake. This recipe is designed for a 15cm tart pan, making it incredibly easy for even beginners. (Apologies in advance if my Korean phrasing sounds a bit unusual. ^^;)
Essential Ingredients- 1 large egg
- 30g canola oil
- 30g sugar
- 50g cake flour (low-gluten flour)
- 30g potato starch
- 2-3g baking powder
- 1/2 apple
- 1 tbsp milk
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a bowl, whisk together 1 egg, 30g of sugar, and 30g of canola oil until well combined. (If you have brown sugar at home, using it will add a unique flavor and color!)
Step 2
To the egg mixture, add 50g of cake flour, 30g of potato starch, and 2-3g of baking powder. It’s best to sift these dry ingredients together. (Sifting helps prevent lumps and results in a smoother, more beautiful cake.) Once the dry ingredients are partially incorporated, add 1 tbsp of milk and gently mix with a spatula until just combined, forming a smooth batter. Avoid overmixing.
Step 3
Pour the prepared batter into your 15cm tart pan. ☆ Using a tart pan with a non-stick coating (like a fluoropolymer coating) makes removal much easier. If your pan doesn’t have a coating, grease it thoroughly with canola oil before adding the batter.
Step 4
Now, arrange the finely diced 1/2 apple pieces on top of the batter. You can press them in slightly. (The apples in the photo are cut a bit large; to make it easier to remove the cake from the pan after baking, it’s better to dice the apple into smaller pieces!)
Step 5
Bake in the preheated 180°C (350°F) oven for 20 minutes. Once the cake has cooled completely, dust generously with powdered sugar for a beautiful finish. For an extra touch that makes it taste even more like an apple pie, you can sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top. ♡
