A comforting abalone porridge made with a perfect blend of rice and cabbage. This nourishing meal is ideal for those needing a gentle, stomach-friendly dish or for anyone following a healthy, low-carb diet.
Ingredients- 1 Prepped Abalone Kit
- 1/2 bowl Warm Cooked Rice
- 1 cup Finely Chopped Cabbage
- Appropriate amount of Finely Chopped Vegetables (e.g., bell pepper)
- A dash of Sesame Oil
- A pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by preparing all your ingredients. Finely chop the cabbage and any other vegetables like bell peppers. Ensure the abalone kit is cleaned and ready.
Step 2
Prepare the rice for the porridge. Using freshly cooked warm rice will result in a smoother, more delicious porridge compared to using leftover cold rice. This method is much quicker and easier than soaking rice from scratch.
Step 3
Take the thoroughly washed cabbage and chop it as finely as possible. Place the finely chopped cabbage and the prepared chopped vegetables into a pot or wok.
Step 4
Add the prepped abalone kit and the warm rice to the pot. Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
Step 5
Once the porridge starts boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 5 more minutes. After turning off the heat, drizzle in a bit of sesame oil for added flavor and aroma.
Step 6
*This recipe is for a single serving, so the sesame oil was added directly to the pot. If you are making a larger batch, it’s best to ladle out the desired portion into a bowl first, and then add sesame oil to taste. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds if desired.
