Main Ingredients

  • 2 Potatoes (approx. 200g)
  • 8 Seasoned Inari Sushi Pockets (pre-cooked)
  • 1 Egg
  • 30g Carrot
  • 30g Red Bell Pepper

Seasoning & Others

  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp Mayonnaise

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, peel the 2 potatoes (approx. 200g), cut them in half, and place them in a pot along with 1 egg. Pour enough water to cover the ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

Step 1

Step 2

While the potatoes and egg are cooking, finely julienne the 30g of carrot and 30g of red bell pepper. Once julienned, finely chop them into very small pieces. This will ensure they blend well with the other filling ingredients and add a pleasant texture.

Step 2

Step 3

Gently drain any excess liquid from the 8 seasoned inari sushi pockets. Arrange them neatly on a plate, ready to be filled. Avoid squeezing them too hard, as this can make them dry.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the potatoes and egg are cooked, remove them from the pot and peel them while still warm. Place the warm potatoes and peeled egg into a large bowl. Add 1 pinch of salt and 1/2 Tbsp of mayonnaise. Use a masher, fork, or spatula to mash the potatoes and egg until smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Step 5

Add the finely chopped carrot and red bell pepper to the mashed potato and egg mixture. These vegetables will add a lovely color and a slight crunch to the filling.

Step 5

Step 6

Using a spoon or spatula, mix all the ingredients thoroughly until evenly distributed. The potato, egg, vegetables, and seasonings will combine to create a delicious filling for the inari sushi.

Step 6

Step 7

Carefully spoon the prepared filling into each of the inari sushi pockets, packing it in gently. Once filled, your delicious ‘Steamed Potato Inari Sushi’ is complete! If you have any leftover filling, you can shape it into small patties and pan-fry them for an extra tasty treat.
