  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Steamed
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Main Ingredients

  • Beef brisket or thinly sliced beef for shabu-shabu 300g
  • Bean sprouts 1 bag (approx. 270g)
  • Bok choy, to taste
  • Zucchini 1/2 medium
  • Onion 1/3 medium
  • Enoki mushrooms 1 bag (approx. 70g)
  • King oyster mushrooms 100g
  • Bay leaves 3

Sauce 1

  • Soy sauce 3 Tbsp
  • Vinegar 1 Tbsp
  • Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) 1.5 Tbsp
  • Minced garlic 1.5 tsp

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Fill your steamer with water and add the bay leaves. Start heating the water. While the water comes to a boil, you can prepare your ingredients to save time.

Step 1

Step 2

Wash and prepare all the vegetables. For the onion, cut it into thick slices or leave it whole, as it will be steamed with the meat and has a nice texture when cooked this way.

Step 2

Step 3

Clean the mushrooms by removing the ends. Slice the zucchini thinly so it cooks quickly and becomes tender. If the enoki or king oyster mushrooms are large, you can cut them in half or trim them for easier eating.

Step 3

Step 4

In the bottom layer of your steamer basket, spread out the thinly sliced beef brisket or shabu-shabu beef. Try to lay it flat without overlapping too much for even cooking.

Step 4

Step 5

On top of the beef, spread out the bean sprouts generously. Then, arrange the prepared vegetables (bok choy, zucchini, onion, mushrooms) attractively over the bean sprouts.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the water in the steamer is boiling vigorously, carefully place the steamer basket with the ingredients inside and cover it. Steam for about 8 to 10 minutes. It’s important not to open the lid during this time! Towards the end of the cooking time, check if the meat and vegetables are cooked to your desired tenderness. Adjust the time as needed. Enjoy your delicious steamed beef brisket!

Step 6

Step 7

For the first dipping sauce, combine soy sauce (3 Tbsp), vinegar (1 Tbsp), gochugaru (1.5 Tbsp), and minced garlic (1.5 tsp) in a small bowl. Mix well to create a savory and slightly spicy sauce.

Step 7

Step 8

For the second sauce, mix minced garlic (1 Tbsp), honey (1 tsp), and lemon juice (4 drops) in another small bowl. This sauce adds a touch of sweetness and a bright, fresh note. Serve these two sauces alongside your steamed beef brisket for a delightful meal!
