Effortless One-Pan Brunch: Spinach Aglio e Olio
Spring spinach is packed with Vitamin C, making it a fantastic choice for boosting your immunity! This recipe offers a delightful one-pan brunch option, combining the freshness of spinach with aromatic garlic and tender squid.
Main Ingredients- 5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 bunch fresh spinach, washed and dried
- 1 squid, cleaned and cut into bite-sized pieces
Seasoning & Flavor- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- Pinch of black pepper
- 5 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- Pinch of black pepper
- 5 Tbsp olive oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat 5 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium-low heat until shimmering. Add the sliced garlic and sauté gently until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 2
Once the garlic is fragrant, add the prepared squid to the pan and stir-fry. Cutting the squid into rings often makes for a visually appealing dish with a pleasant texture. Keep stirring to prevent sticking.
Step 3
When the squid is almost cooked through, season with salt. Start with 1/2 teaspoon and adjust to your personal preference. Taste and add more if needed.
Step 4
Now, add a pinch of black pepper to enhance the dish’s aroma and flavor. Freshly ground pepper is recommended for the best taste.
Step 5
Once the squid is fully cooked, add the cleaned spinach to the pan. Increase the heat to high and stir-fry quickly until the spinach begins to wilt.
Step 6
Cook the spinach just until it softens and wilts, then immediately remove from heat. Overcooking spinach can make it mushy, so aim for a vibrant green color and tender texture.
Step 7
Transfer the finished Spinach Aglio e Olio to a serving plate. For an extra touch of flavor and visual appeal, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy your effortlessly delicious one-pan meal!
