Ingredients
  • 300g Ham or Spam (cut into cubes)
  • 2 small cans of Spicy Tuna (1 can for 1 serving)
  • Scallion, moderate amount (chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce (1 Tbsp for 1 serving)
  • Sesame Oil, moderate amount
  • Fried Eggs (for each person)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s prepare the ingredients! (Ham or Spam works great!)

Step 2

First, heat some oil in a pan and stir-fry the chopped scallions until fragrant to create scallion oil. This base adds a wonderful aroma to the fried rice.

Step 3

Once the scallions are lightly golden and fragrant, add the cubed ham and stir-fry until it’s nicely browned and slightly crispy. This brings out the savory flavor of the ham.

Step 4

Next, add the spicy tuna! (I used two small cans because I didn’t have a large one. If you’re making just one serving, use only one can.) Make sure to include the spicy tuna brine for extra flavor.

Step 5

Add the cooked rice to the pan and pour in 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce. Stir everything together well to coat the rice evenly. (If you’re making one serving, use only 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce).

Step 6

While the fried rice is cooking, prepare a sunny-side-up egg for each serving. A runny yolk adds richness to the dish.

Step 7

Drizzle in some sesame oil for that irresistible nutty aroma and give it a final stir. Top the fried rice with the prepared fried egg. For an extra touch, sprinkle some parsley flakes on top if you have them (optional).

Step 8

Now, enjoy your delicious and satisfying spicy tuna and ham fried rice!
