  • 6 pieces of prepared gwamegi
  • 2 Korean green chilies (Cheongyang peppers)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the gwamegi. Heat a pan over medium heat, then place the gwamegi on it and lightly stir-fry. This step helps to remove excess oil from the gwamegi and enhances its chewy texture. Wipe away any rendered oil from the pan with a paper towel.

Now it’s time to season. Add 1.5 Tbsp of gochujang and 1 Tbsp of rice wine (or soju) to the stir-fried gwamegi. Increase the heat to high and stir-fry quickly. Be careful, as it can burn easily. Stir-fry rapidly to ensure the sauce coats the gwamegi well.

Finally, add 2 finely chopped Korean green chilies (washed and sliced) and stir-fry together. Once the chilies are slightly cooked, turn off the heat and drizzle with a little sesame oil to finish.
