Core Ingredients- 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Stalk Green Onion (chopped)
- 1/4 Onion (finely minced)
- 300g Ground Beef
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat a deep, wide pan over medium heat. Add 1 Tbsp of cooking oil and 1 Tbsp of sesame oil. Add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant. Then, add 1 chopped green onion and 1/4 finely minced onion. Sauté together until the onions become translucent, enhancing the aromatic vegetable base.
Step 2
Place the 300g of ground beef in a sieve and rinse lightly under running water. Drain thoroughly to remove as much excess moisture as possible. This step helps to prevent the beef from becoming watery when stir-fried, leading to a better texture.
Step 3
Once the vegetables are sautéed, add the prepared ground beef to the pan. Sprinkle 1 tsp of black pepper and add 3 Tbsp of cheongju (rice wine) to help tenderize the meat and remove any unwanted odors. Increase the heat to high and stir-fry, breaking up the beef with a spatula, until it is completely cooked through.
Step 4
When the beef is fully cooked and no longer pink, add 6 Tbsp of gochujang and 2 Tbsp of gochugaru. Reduce the heat to medium-low to prevent burning. Stir well to ensure the beef and seasonings are evenly combined. Thoroughly coating the beef with the sauce is crucial for flavor.
Step 5
Finally, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for a minute or two. This allows the flavors to meld and deepen, creating a moist and rich stir-fried beef with gochujang. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, adding a tiny bit of soy sauce if it’s not salty enough.
