Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to make one of the most beloved side dishes in Korea: seasoned dried shredded squid. I’ll reveal the golden recipe that is exceptionally savory and tender thanks to the addition of mayonnaise and sesame oil. Shall we get started right away?

While you can directly season the dried shredded squid, I prefer to rinse it lightly in water first to make it more tender. This method ensures the squid is not tough and can be enjoyed much more softly. Choosing this method will allow you to taste a more delicious seasoned dried shredded squid.

Gently squeeze out the water from the rinsed dried shredded squid. Next, cut the squid into bite-sized pieces. Now it’s time to season. In a bowl, add the cut squid, 1 Tbsp sesame oil, 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds, 2 tsp gochujang, 1 tsp gochugaru, 2 tsp oligodang, and 1 tsp soy sauce. Mix everything together gently with your hands until well combined.
