This recipe creates a delightfully savory and spicy broth, perfect for enjoying with a drink on your own. I designed this Jjamppong ramen to be a satisfying and flavorful snack that’s incredibly easy to prepare.
Ingredients- 1 pack of Jjamppong-flavored instant ramen (Jin Jjamppong recommended)
- 2 Cheongyang chili peppers
- 1 can of silkworm pupae (including the brine)
- 2 dumplings
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a pot, add the appropriate amount of water. First, add the soup base and dried vegetable packet from the Jjamppong ramen and bring to a boil. (Tip: I used ‘Jin Jjamppong’, but you can use any other Jjamppong ramen brand for a similar delicious result.)
Step 2
Once the water is boiling vigorously, add the ramen noodles, the prepared dumplings, and the chopped Cheongyang chili peppers. Cook everything together. The Cheongyang peppers will add a pleasant heat, making the broth even more refreshing.
Step 3
When the noodles and dumplings are partially cooked, pour the entire can of silkworm pupae, including its brine, into the pot. Bring it to a rolling boil once more. The nutty flavor of the silkworm pupae and their brine will meld beautifully with the Jjamppong broth, creating a richer taste.
Step 4
Once all the ingredients are well-cooked and the broth has developed its full flavor, your delicious Silkworm Pupae Jjamppong Ramen is ready! Enjoy it immediately while it’s hot for the best taste. You can also add chopped scallions or red chili peppers if you like.
