Ingredients

  • 1 serving of somyeon noodles (approx. 100g)
  • 1 anchovy and kelp broth pack
  • 1 cup well-fermented kimchi (approx. 150g)

Seasoning Sauce

  • 2.5 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp fine gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic

Cooking Instructions

First, let’s cook the somyeon noodles. Boil plenty of water and add the noodles. For a chewier texture, it’s good to add a pinch of salt (about 1/2 tsp). Be careful not to overcook the noodles; boil for 3-4 minutes, then rinse them under cold water, drain, and arrange them nicely in a bowl.

Finely chop the kimchi into bite-sized pieces (about 1cm wide). The flavor of the kimchi will add depth to the broth, so using well-fermented kimchi will make it even tastier.

Let’s make the delicious seasoning sauce! In a small bowl, combine 2.5 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp fine gochugaru, and 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic. Mix them thoroughly. This will create a spicy and savory sauce.
