Main Ingredients- 3 cups laver (paramium)
- A little bit of radish
- A little bit of carrot
Seasoning Ingredients- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp soup soy sauce (or regular soy sauce)
- 2.5 Tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp plum extract (or syrup)
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin, etc.)
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp soup soy sauce (or regular soy sauce)
- 2.5 Tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp plum extract (or syrup)
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin, etc.)
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly wash the fresh laver under running water as if you were washing laundry. If not washed sufficiently, the inherent saltiness and fishy sea odor of the laver will remain, affecting the taste, so thorough washing is crucial.
Step 2
After washing, gently squeeze out excess water from the laver with your hands. Then, to prevent clumping, roughly chop it into bite-sized pieces.
Step 3
Thinly julienne the radish and carrot into approximately 3mm thick strips. Using a generous amount of radish will provide a crisp and refreshing texture, while carrots add a beautiful color and enhance the overall mouthfeel.
Step 4
In a large bowl, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp soup soy sauce, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp cooking wine, 1 Tbsp vinegar, 2.5 Tbsp red pepper flakes, and 1 Tbsp plum extract. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved to create a well-mixed seasoning.
Step 5
Once the sugar has dissolved into the seasoning mixture, add the prepared laver, julienned radish, and carrots to the bowl.

Gently toss and mix everything with your hands, ensuring the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the laver and vegetables. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the laver mushy.

Finally, add 1 Tbsp of sesame seeds for a nutty aroma and flavor, and mix lightly one more time to complete the delicious seasoned laver salad.
