Create a hearty and delicious meal using a budget-friendly scallop stir-fry kit! While this kit didn’t contain scallop adductor muscles, we’ve enhanced it with octopus, tteokbokki rice cakes, and chewy Chinese noodles for an even more satisfying dish. The pre-seasoned scallop stir-fry makes cooking a breeze, and you can add extra seasonings to suit your taste. Using frozen Chinese noodles that don’t require separate boiling makes this a quick and tasty option.
Main Ingredients- Prepared Scallop Stir-fry (with seasoning) 480g
- Fresh Octopus 2 pieces
- Soft Tteokbokki Rice Cakes 15 pieces
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the thawed octopus by cutting it into bite-sized pieces. You can use it frozen, but thawing it beforehand will result in a more tender texture. Have your scallop stir-fry kit and tteokbokki rice cakes ready. Since the scallop stir-fry kit alone might not be enough, we’ll add octopus and rice cakes to make it more substantial.
Step 2
Heat a wide pan over medium heat. Add a bit of oil to create aromatic scallion oil, then add the prepared octopus, tteokbokki rice cakes, and the entire scallop stir-fry kit. Begin to stir-fry everything together. Initially, a lot of water may be released from the frozen octopus. Don’t worry, just keep cooking; this water will help create a delicious sauce by mingling with the seasonings.
Step 3
Once the octopus and scallops start to cook, add 2 tablespoons of gochujang to introduce a spicy flavor. If the scallop stir-fry kit already has ample seasoning, adjust the amount of gochujang to your preference. At this stage, stir in 1 teaspoon of smoky flavor oil to enhance the aroma and taste.
Step 4
Now, add the frozen Chinese noodles, which have been thawed at room temperature, to the pan. Chinese noodles are known for their thick and chewy texture and are convenient as they don’t require separate boiling. Stir-fry until all ingredients are well combined and the noodles are coated with the sauce. As the noodles cook, the sauce will thicken. If it becomes too dry, you can add a little water.
Step 5
Finally, drizzle in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil for a nutty aroma and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame seeds to finish. Check that all ingredients are cooked through and the sauce has permeated the noodles. You’ll enjoy the harmonious blend of chewy Chinese noodles, tender octopus, and scallops.
Step 6
Transfer the finished scallop and octopus stir-fry with Chinese noodles to an appealing serving dish. Generously top the vibrant red, hearty stir-fry with julienned cucumber. The crisp texture and freshness of the cucumber will cut through the spiciness of the dish, making it even more enjoyable. If desired, add shredded perilla leaves for an aromatic touch. Your impressive meal, the scallop and octopus stir-fried noodles, is ready!
