Spicy and Savory Air-Fried Pork Ribs
Make Deliciously Spicy and Savory Pork Ribs at Home
I recently bought pork ribs on sale at the supermarket and decided to make this dish! The slightly spicy and appetizing gochujang (Korean chili paste) sauce is a perfect match for rice and also makes for an excellent snack with soju. This recipe is sure to be a hit!
Main Ingredients- 1 pack pork ribs
Spicy and Savory Marinade- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 Tbsp oligo syrup (or corn syrup/honey)
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp mirin (rice wine)
- 1 Tbsp store-bought skewer sauce (optional)
- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 Tbsp oligo syrup (or corn syrup/honey)
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp mirin (rice wine)
- 1 Tbsp store-bought skewer sauce (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 1 pack of pork ribs. Arrange the ribs in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping too much. Place them in a preheated air fryer at 200°C (390°F) and cook for about 20 minutes. If the ribs are not cooked through, continue cooking for additional 5-10 minute intervals. (Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model, so it’s good to check periodically.)
Step 2
While the ribs are cooking, let’s make the delicious marinade! In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp gochujang, 2 Tbsp gochugaru, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp oyster sauce, 3 Tbsp oligo syrup, 3 Tbsp soy sauce, and 2 Tbsp mirin. Mix well with a spoon or whisk until smooth and there are no lumps. Making a flavorful marinade is key to delicious pork ribs!
Step 3
For an extra layer of flavor and depth, consider adding 1 Tbsp of a store-bought skewer sauce. While the ribs will be delicious without it, adding this optional sauce can elevate the taste even further. (Adjust to your preference.)
Step 4
Now, take the partially cooked ribs out of the air fryer and place them in the prepared marinade. Gently toss them to ensure the sauce coats the ribs evenly. Next, transfer the marinated ribs to a clean frying pan. Cook over medium-low heat, turning them occasionally to prevent burning, until they are nicely browned and caramelized. The sauce should thicken slightly and develop a glossy sheen.
Step 5
Finally, arrange the beautifully cooked pork ribs on a serving plate. Your spicy, savory, and slightly sweet air-fried pork ribs are ready to enjoy! Serve them with warm rice for a satisfying meal, or pair them with a cold beer or soju for a perfect appetizer.
