Let’s make some delicious autumn snow crab stew using frozen snow crabs! This recipe delivers a deep and refreshing broth with tender crab meat that’s perfect for the season.
Main Ingredients- 3 frozen snow crabs
- 1/2 zucchini
- 150g radish (daikon)
- 1 king oyster mushroom
- 1/2 onion
- 1/2 green onion (scallion)
Seasoning Ingredients- 1 stock cube (or anchovy-kelp broth)
- 1 Tbsp soybean paste (doenjang)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 chili pepper (e.g., Cheongyang or red chili), thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (or soju, mirin)
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 1/2 Tbsp ginger syrup (or a pinch of minced ginger)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 stock cube (or anchovy-kelp broth)
- 1 Tbsp soybean paste (doenjang)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 chili pepper (e.g., Cheongyang or red chili), thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (or soju, mirin)
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 1/2 Tbsp ginger syrup (or a pinch of minced ginger)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thaw the frozen snow crabs under running water. Then, using a scrubbing brush, meticulously clean the shell of the crabs, paying close attention to the belly button area and removing any other undesirable parts. Trimming sharp edges will also make the stew cleaner.

In a pot, add the sliced radish, the cleaned crab bodies, and the stock cube (or your prepared broth). Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

Once the water is boiling vigorously, add the prepared zucchini and onion. Stir in all the seasoning ingredients: soybean paste, minced garlic, cooking wine, red pepper flakes, ginger syrup, and soy sauce. Mix well to ensure the seasonings dissolve evenly.
