Spicy and Healthy Mala Tang with Tofu Noodles
Homemade Tofu Noodle Mala Tang (Noodle Dish)
A must-try Mala Tang for all Mala Tang enthusiasts, made with healthy and chewy tofu noodles!
Ingredients- Tofu noodles 200g
- Mala Tang sauce 50g (adjust to taste)
- Bok choy 2 heads
- Beef brisket slices 80g
- Lotus root 1 handful
- Chili oil 1 Tbsp (for extra spice)
- Red chilies 3 (remove seeds for less heat)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, bring 5 cups (about 1 liter) of water to a boil in a pot. Once boiling, add the Mala Tang sauce (50g). You can adjust the amount of sauce to suit your preference. Stir well to dissolve the sauce completely in the water.
Step 2
Now, it’s time to add the fresh vegetables that will make your Mala Tang rich and flavorful. Add the bok choy, cut into bite-sized pieces, and the delightfully crisp lotus root. (Feel free to add other vegetables like bean sprouts or mushrooms if you like.)
Step 3
When the broth comes to a rolling boil, carefully add the chewy tofu noodles and the flavorful beef brisket slices. Tofu noodles cook very quickly, so be mindful not to overcook them. Cook the beef brisket just until the pink color disappears.
Step 4
If you prefer an even bolder and more intense spicy kick, add 1 tablespoon of chili oil and 3 red chilies (seeds removed or finely chopped) at this stage. This will enhance the numbing and spicy Mala flavor.
Step 5
Continue to simmer for about 5 more minutes, allowing all the ingredients to meld together into a delicious stew. Your flavorful Tofu Noodle Mala Tang is now ready! Serve hot and enjoy every spoonful.
