♥ [Newlywed’s Table] Spam and Egg Rice Bowl
Perfect for brunch when guests arrive unexpectedly! This dish is visually appealing, delicious, and can be whipped up in just 10 minutes.
Ingredients- 1 can Spam (approx. 200g)
- 2 eggs
- 1 serving cooked rice (freshly cooked or leftover)
- A pinch of shredded dried seaweed (Gim)
- 1 Tbsp flying fish roe (Tobiko)
- 1/2 cup pickled radish (Danmuji)
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- A drizzle of sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your ingredients. Slice the can of Spam into about 6 pieces for easy eating. Finely chop the pickled radish. We’ll be making fried eggs for this, so cook them sunny-side up with both the yolk and white intact, aiming for a runny yolk. Have the shredded seaweed and flying fish roe ready in separate bowls.
Step 2
Place the sliced Spam in a pan and fry until golden brown, letting excess fat render out. Put one serving of warm rice into your serving bowl. Arrange the nicely browned Spam pieces on top. Next to the Spam, artfully arrange the finely chopped pickled radish, glistening flying fish roe, and the savory shredded seaweed.
Step 3
Finally, gently place the prepared sunny-side-up fried egg on top of the rice. Drizzle about half a tablespoon of soy sauce and a touch of sesame oil over everything, according to your preference. Then, mix everything together with a satisfying stir and enjoy! The combination of savory Spam, creamy egg yolk, and popping flying fish roe will be absolutely delightful!
