Healthy Tofu Recipe: Easy Homemade Tofu Pizza

Using soft tofu as a base, topped with a medley of savory ingredients and melted cheese, this pizza is a perfect treat for both kids as a healthy snack and adults as a delicious accompaniment to beer. It’s a creative and satisfying way to incorporate more tofu into your diet.
Main Ingredients- 1 block (approx. 350g) firm tofu
- 1 bag enoki mushrooms
- 0.5 medium onion
- 1/4 can Spam
- 100g ground pork
- 2 bags (approx. 200g total) mozzarella cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all your ingredients for a delicious Tofu Pizza. Lightly pat the tofu dry with paper towels for better texture.
Step 2
Peel and finely mince the onion. The sweetness from the onion will add wonderful flavor to the pizza.
Step 3
Clean the enoki mushrooms, trim the base, and cut them into roughly four sections. Their chewy texture complements the pizza nicely.
Step 4
Dice the Spam into small, bite-sized pieces. The savory and salty taste of Spam will enhance the pizza’s umami.
Step 5
Take half of the tofu block and cut it into four thick slices. These will form the base layers of your pizza.
Step 6
For the remaining half of the tofu, place it in a bowl and mash it gently with a fork or your hands until crumbly. This mashed tofu will be part of the pizza topping.
Step 7
Finely mince the green onion. Remove the seeds from the red and green chili peppers and chop them finely. Using only a small amount of chili will make it enjoyable for children too.

Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the sliced tofu pieces (from step 4) in the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. This will give them a slightly crispy exterior and a soft interior.

In the same pan, add the ground pork. Season with 1 Tbsp of cooking wine and a pinch of black pepper to remove any gamey odor. Stir-fry until the pork is fully cooked. The savory flavor of the pork adds depth to the pizza.

Once the pork is cooked, add the minced onion and chopped enoki mushrooms. Sauté together until the vegetables are softened.

Finally, add the mashed tofu to the pan and stir-fry briefly until all ingredients are well combined. The mashed tofu will enrich the topping mixture.

Arrange the pan-fried tofu slices on your baking sheet or air fryer basket. Spread 5 Tbsp of tomato sauce evenly over the tofu slices. This forms the flavorful base.

Generously spoon the cooked pork, onion, mushroom, and mashed tofu mixture over the tomato sauce on the tofu slices. More topping means a tastier pizza!

Sprinkle one bag of mozzarella cheese evenly over the topping mixture. The cheese will melt and bind all the delicious ingredients together.

Place the remaining pan-fried tofu slices on top of the first layer of topping. Spread more tomato sauce, then add the remaining cooked mixture. Cover generously with the second bag of mozzarella cheese. Finally, garnish with the minced green onion and chopped red and green chili peppers for a vibrant finish.
Step 16
Preheat your air fryer to 190-200°C (375-400°F). Place the assembled tofu pizza inside and bake for approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model.
