  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • Shrimp 30g (finely minced or chopped)
  • 1 Egg
  • Scallion or green onion 5g (use mostly white parts, finely minced)
  • Onion 15g (finely minced)
  • Carrot 5g (finely minced)
  • Cooking oil 1 Tbsp
  • Cooked rice 100g (warmed to a baby-friendly temperature)
  • Water 20ml
  • Sesame oil 0.5 Tbsp

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely in cold water. Pat the thawed shrimp dry with paper towels, then finely mince or chop them into small pieces suitable for your baby. The slightly chewy texture of the shrimp will be enjoyable for your baby.

Step 1

Step 2

Crack 1 fresh egg into a bowl. Use a fork or whisk to break the yolk and mix well until smooth. Beating the egg thoroughly will ensure it blends smoothly into the fried rice.

Step 2

Step 3

Finely mince the onion, carrot, and scallion into very small pieces that are easy for your baby to chew and swallow. Finely chopped vegetables distribute evenly throughout the fried rice and are less likely to be rejected by babies. The natural sweetness of the vegetables will enhance the flavor of the fried rice.

Step 3

Step 4

Heat a clean frying pan over medium-low heat. Add 1 Tbsp of cooking oil and let it coat the pan by swirling it gently. This ensures the oil is evenly distributed.

Step 4

Step 5

Add the minced scallions to the heated pan and stir-fry over medium-high heat for about 1 minute, until fragrant. The refreshing aroma of the scallions will infuse the oil, adding depth to the flavor of the fried rice. Be careful not to burn them.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the scallions are fragrant, add the finely minced onion and carrot. Stir-fry together for about 2-3 minutes until the vegetables become translucent and a sweet aroma is released.

Step 6

Step 7

When the onion and carrot are slightly cooked, add the minced shrimp and stir-fry with the other ingredients. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and is fully cooked. The shrimp will release a sweet fragrance as it cooks.

Step 7

Step 8

Push the cooked shrimp and vegetables to one side of the frying pan. Carefully pour the beaten egg into the empty space on the other side. Spreading the egg thinly across the pan will help it cook evenly.

Step 8

Step 9

As the egg begins to set, gently stir and scramble it with a chopstick or spatula. Cook until it’s still moist, avoiding overcooking. Once the scrambled egg is done, mix it thoroughly with the shrimp and vegetables on the other side of the pan.

Step 9

Step 10

Now, add 100g of warmed cooked rice and 20ml of water to the pan. Adding a little water helps prevent the rice from clumping and keeps the fried rice moist.

Step 10

Step 11

Gently stir and mix all the ingredients with a spatula until the rice is evenly coated and the fried rice reaches a slightly loose consistency, about 1-2 minutes. Finally, drizzle in 0.5 Tbsp of sesame oil and mix once more. Your delicious shrimp and egg fried rice for your baby is ready! Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
