Ingredients
  • 1 Potato (approx. 250g)
  • 1 slice of processed cheese
  • 1-2 pinches of fine salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, peel the potatoes thoroughly. Peeled potatoes are much easier to work with for cooking.

Step 2

Slice the peeled potatoes thinly, about 0.5cm thick. Place the sliced potatoes in a microwave-safe container. Sprinkle with 1-2 pinches of fine salt, cover with plastic wrap or a lid, and microwave for about 5 minutes. This step softens the potatoes for mashing.

Step 3

Carefully remove the potatoes from the microwave (they will be hot!) and mash them using a masher or fork until smooth. Knead the mashed potato for 2-3 times until it forms a dough-like consistency, which gives it a pleasant chewiness. Divide the dough into two equal portions. This is to fit the sandwich maker.

Step 4

Preheat your sandwich maker. Place one portion of the potato dough onto the bottom plate of the preheated sandwich maker. Spread it evenly using a spoon or your hands, ensuring it covers the plate and reaches the edges. Even spreading is key for a well-formed sandwich.

Step 5

Place one slice of processed cheese on top of the spread potato dough. The melting cheese will combine with the potato, creating a richer flavor.

Step 6

Cover the cheese with the remaining potato dough portion and close the sandwich maker lid. Depending on your sandwich maker’s model, it should be ready in about 3-4 minutes, or when the indicator light turns off. Carefully open the lid and remove the golden-brown potato sandwich.

Step 7

Your warm and delicious potato cheese sandwich is ready! Cut it into desired portions and serve elegantly on a plate for a delightful snack or meal. Enjoy your creation!
