Sundubu Soup Ingredients

  • 1 block Firm Tofu (approx. 400g)
  • 2 cups Water (approx. 400ml)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp Salted Shrimp (Saewujeot)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Fish Sauce (or Tuna Extract)

Spicy and Sweet Seasoning Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 stalk Green Onion (white part mainly, finely chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Water
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/3 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1/3 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru)
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare one block of firm tofu. Gently crumble it with your hands. The key is to keep some texture, so don’t mash it too finely – aim for soft, fluffy clumps.

In a pot, add 2 cups of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Once the water is boiling, add 1/2 Tbsp of minced garlic to infuse the broth. The garlic will add depth to the soup’s flavor.

When the water is boiling, carefully add the crumbled tofu to the pot. Gently separate the tofu pieces so they don’t clump together as the soup simmers.
