Ingredients
- 100g Rice
- 500ml Water
- 1 tsp Flour
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
To ensure a smooth texture for your baby’s food, start by adding 100ml of clean water to your blender.
Step 2
Next, transfer 100g of cooked rice (from your rice cooker) into the blender.
Step 3
Grind the rice thoroughly in the blender until it forms a very fine powder. This step is crucial to prevent any large grains that could be a choking hazard or difficult for your baby to swallow.
Step 4
In a pot, combine the finely ground rice mixture with the remaining 400ml of water. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
Step 5
Add 1 teaspoon of flour to the pot. This will contribute to a smoother consistency and a richer texture for the baby food.
Step 6
For an extra smooth consistency, you can blend this mixture again in the blender to prevent any lumps from the flour. (Alternatively, you can grind the flour with the rice in step 2).
Step 7
Place the pot containing all the ingredients onto your stovetop.
Step 8
Begin by cooking over high heat. Once the mixture starts to bubble and boil, reduce the heat to low. Continue to simmer for another 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot. This simmering process will help achieve the desired consistency.
Step 9
The ideal consistency for this finished rice flour baby food should be smooth and creamy, similar to a thin soup or gravy. Adjust as needed for your baby’s preference.
Step 10
Portion the baby food into 30ml freezer-safe cubes for storage. For food to be consumed the next day, store approximately 60g in a dedicated baby food container in the refrigerator.
