Delicious Smoky Duck Kimchi Fried Rice (Great for Leftover Duck!)
We made this delicious fried rice using leftover smoked duck and kimchi. It tastes just like the amazing fried rice you get at the end of a Korean BBQ meal! It’s a simple yet wonderful way to enjoy a unique dish. ^^
Ingredients- 180g Smoked Duck
- 200g Kimchi
- 15 cloves Garlic
- 2 bowls Cooked Rice
- 1 handful King Oyster Mushrooms (optional)
- Plenty of Seaweed Flakes
- A little Sesame Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients for a flavorful stir-fry.
Step 2
Finely chop the kimchi and smoked duck into pieces about 0.5cm in size. Tear the king oyster mushrooms into bite-sized pieces by hand. Thinly slice the garlic cloves.
Step 3
Place the smoked duck in a dry, preheated pan and stir-fry over medium heat until golden brown and slightly crispy. The duck’s own fat will render and cook it beautifully, infusing it with rich flavor.
Step 4
Tip: Smoked duck can release a lot of fat. Use paper towels to lightly blot away some of the excess oil from the pan occasionally. This helps prevent the fried rice from becoming too greasy, while still retaining the duck’s delicious savory notes.
Step 5
Once the smoked duck is nicely browned, add the chopped kimchi to the pan and stir-fry together with the duck. The tangy, appetizing flavor of the kimchi will begin to meld with the richness of the duck.

When the kimchi has softened slightly and is cooked to your liking, add the sliced garlic. Stir-fry until the garlic becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic; adjust the heat as needed.

After stir-frying the kimchi to your desired level of tenderness, add the prepared king oyster mushrooms. Stir-fry for a short time, adjusting the cooking duration based on your preference for texture – cook longer for softer mushrooms, or shorter for a crispier bite.
Step 8
Turn off the heat once all the ingredients are well-cooked and fragrant. Add the warm cooked rice to the pan and gently mix everything together until the rice is evenly coated with the flavorful stir-fry. Ensure every grain of rice is infused with the delicious mixture.
Step 9
Finally, sprinkle generously with seaweed flakes and add a drizzle of sesame oil. Gently toss everything together one last time to combine and enhance the aromas.
