Super Easy Single-Person Dish: Stir-Fried Imitation Crab with Oyster Sauce
Here’s a super simple recipe for imitation crab stir-fry that was a staple during my time living alone. It’s incredibly easy, guaranteed to be delicious, and perfect for beginners. You can make this minimal side dish with confidence! ^^*
Main Ingredients- 5 sticks imitation crab meat
- 1/2 green onion
- 20g carrot (approx. 1/4 small carrot)
- A little cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all your ingredients for a delicious stir-fry! Julienne the carrot and finely chop the green onion. Cut the imitation crab meat into bite-sized pieces that match the size of the vegetables for a visually appealing dish.
Step 2
Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the chopped green onions and stir-fry until fragrant. Once the aroma of the green onions releases, add the julienned carrots and stir-fry together for about 20 seconds. The carrots will soften slightly and release their natural sweetness.
Step 3
Add the cut imitation crab meat to the pan and stir-fry with the vegetables for about 1 minute. It’s important to stir-fry gently to prevent the crab meat from sticking and to ensure it gets coated with the oil. This step helps the crab meat absorb the fragrant essence of the green onion oil.
Step 4
Now it’s time to add the key seasonings! Pour 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce and half a tablespoon of allulose into the pan. Allulose is a great choice for stir-fries as it has fewer calories than regular sugar and offers a clean sweetness. Feel free to adjust the amount of allulose based on your preference for sweetness.
Step 5
Stir-fry everything together for just about 10 seconds, ensuring the imitation crab meat and seasonings are well combined. Avoid overcooking, as this can make the crab meat tough. The goal is to lightly coat the ingredients with the sauce.
Step 6
Turn off the heat. Finally, drizzle in half a tablespoon of sesame oil, a pinch of black pepper, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Give it one last gentle toss using the residual heat. Your simple and delicious imitation crab stir-fry is ready! Serve it over warm rice for a delightful meal.
