Main Ingredients- 1/2 can Spam
- 1 large egg
- 1 bowl cooked rice
- A pinch of shredded seaweed (gim)
Seasonings & Others- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- Mayonnaise, to taste (optional)
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- Mayonnaise, to taste (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, to slightly reduce the saltiness of the Spam, blanch it in hot water for about 1-2 minutes. Pat it dry with paper towels, then cut it into bite-sized cubes. Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat, whisk in 1 egg, and scramble it until soft and fluffy. Set the scrambled eggs aside temporarily. In the same pan, add the cubed Spam and pan-fry until golden brown and slightly crispy.
Step 2
Place one bowl of warm cooked rice into your serving bowl. Evenly spread the freshly made fluffy scrambled eggs over the rice.
Step 3
Arrange the golden-brown fried Spam attractively on top of the scrambled eggs. You can also layer the Spam over the rice if you prefer.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of soy sauce, 4 tablespoons of water, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved to create the special soy sauce. Drizzle this sauce evenly over the rice and Spam.
Step 5
Drizzle mayonnaise over the sauce in a zigzag pattern, or pipe it in your desired shape. The creamy, savory mayonnaise complements the salty Spam, making the dish even more delicious.
Step 6
Finally, sprinkle a handful of shredded seaweed over the top of the rice bowl. Your delicious Spam & Mayo Rice Bowl is now complete! This is a simple yet satisfying meal, perfect for when you lack appetite or don’t feel like cooking. Give it a try – it’s truly delicious!
