- 1 packet of ramyeon soup base
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one cup of your favorite ramyeon. Any kind will work, but a ramyeon with a rich broth will make the stew even more delicious.
Step 2
Carefully pour one package of soft tofu into a pot.
Step 3
Using a spatula or spoon, break the soft tofu into large chunks. Avoid mashing it too finely.
Step 4
Add 250ml of water to the pot and pour in the entire ramyeon soup base packet. (If you prefer a richer soft tofu stew, reduce the water to 200ml.) Bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Let’s make it ‘fiery’!
Step 5
While the soft tofu is boiling, let’s make the crispy and sweet churros ramyeon-ttang!
Step 6
Place the ramyeon noodles into a plastic bag and crush them into bite-sized pieces with your hands. Try not to crush them into a fine powder.
Step 7
Spread the crushed noodles on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for 1 to 1 minute 30 seconds, until they are crispy.
Step 8
Sprinkle 3 Tbsp of sugar and 1/2 Tbsp of cinnamon powder evenly over the crisped noodles. Give it a gentle mix, and your sweet churros-flavored ramyeon-ttang is complete! You’ll get that delightful churros crunch. ♥
Step 9
Once the soft tofu stew starts to boil vigorously, add the enoki mushrooms, chopped green onions, 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, and a pinch of black pepper. Sprinkle them in ‘tip-top’.
Step 10
Finally, carefully crack one egg (‘tok’) into the stew. Reduce the heat slightly and simmer for about 1 more minute. Your delicious soft tofu stew is ready! ‘The crowning touch’!
Step 11
Ta-da! With just one cup of ramyeon, you’ve created both a hearty soup snack and a satisfyingly chewy snack. Now, all that’s left is to enjoy!
Step 12
When eating the soft tofu stew, gently scoop out a bit of the egg yolk with your spoon.
Step 13
Then, break the yolk (‘tok’).
Step 14
Dip the enoki mushrooms into the yolk for a truly fantastic taste experience! The chewy, crisp texture of the enoki mushrooms combined with the rich yolk creates a sauce that adds incredible depth of flavor, like a gourmet sauce. The ‘chewy-crisp’ texture and ‘savory-savory’ taste are superb. It’s genuinely delicious! ^^
Step 15
Savor the tender soft tofu along with plenty of the broth. The spicy and refreshing broth will awaken your palate. Since the enoki mushrooms substitute for ramyeon noodles, you’ll feel satisfyingly full. Plus, it’s lower in calories than noodles, making it a guilt-free option even when you’re dieting! Hehe.
Step 16
If the spiciness of the soft tofu stew feels a bit intense, take a bite of the churros ramyeon-ttang and you’ll be amazed by the flavor combination! The ramyeon-ttang shatters satisfyingly with each bite, and the sweet sugar and fragrant cinnamon create a sensation like a crispy version of a churro. It’s a magical taste that instantly delights your mouth, which was previously heated by the spice! ^___^
Step 17
As you eat, do you find yourself thinking, ‘It could be a bit sweeter,’ or ‘I don’t want to waste the sugar on the plate’? If so, put the leftover ramyeon-ttang and sugar back into the bag you used to crush the noodles. Crush it further into smaller pieces and mix everything together. Scooping it up with a spoonful, along with the sugar, makes it even more delightful! ♥ Highly recommended that you try making this!
