Simple Kimchi Fried Rice (Microwave Method)
Kimchi Fried Rice Made in the Microwave – Even a Child Can Do It!
Tired of washing dishes after using the stove? I made this recipe to solve that problem! Enjoy delicious kimchi fried rice with minimal effort.
Ingredients- Kimchi: Desired amount (about 1/2 cup), finely chopped
- Canned Tuna: 1/3 can, drained
- Cooked Rice: 1 serving
- Sugar: 1/2 tsp (balances the kimchi’s tanginess)
- Perilla Oil (Deulgireum): 1 tsp (adds a nutty aroma)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, finely chop the ripe kimchi into bite-sized pieces. Cutting it as small as possible makes it easier for everyone, especially children, to eat.
Step 2
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped kimchi, drained tuna (about 1/3 of the can), 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of perilla oil. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
Step 3
Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap, and poke a few holes in the wrap with a toothpick or fork. Microwave on high for about 1 minute and 45 seconds. (Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your microwave’s power.)
Step 4
Be very careful when removing the bowl from the microwave – it will be hot! Also, exercise caution when removing the plastic wrap, as steam may escape.
Step 5
Spoon the hot, flavorful kimchi and tuna mixture over a serving of warm cooked rice. Mix everything together well, and your delicious kimchi fried rice is ready in minutes! It’s a fun and easy dish to make together with kids.
