Simple Homemade Chicken Sandwich & Chicken Wrap
Quick Chicken Wraps with Tortillas and Chicken Sandwiches with Bread
Here’s a recipe for quick and easy chicken wraps using tortillas and chicken sandwiches using bread, utilizing leftover chicken tenders, tortillas, and bread. Perfect for when you’re tired of just salads, or need a simple meal or snack. These are also great as a snack for kids or for home parties. Inspired by McDonald’s Snack Wraps, try making a generous version with ingredients you have at home!
Basic Ingredients- 4 frozen chicken tenders
- 2 tortillas
- 2 slices of bread
- 3 leaves of fresh lettuce
- A little bell pepper (any color)
- 3 slices of cheddar cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the frozen chicken tenders. Preheat your air fryer to 190°C (375°F) and place the 4 chicken tenders inside. Cook for about 12 minutes until golden and crispy. These crispy chicken tenders will be the star of your sandwich and wrap.
Step 2
Warm the tortillas in the microwave for about 30 seconds. This makes them pliable and easier to roll without breaking. Alternatively, you can lightly toast them in a pan for extra crispiness.
Step 3
Initially, I only planned to make chicken wraps with the tortillas. However, to make it even more satisfying, I’ve added 2 slices of bread and 1 slice of cheddar cheese. This will allow us to make a hearty chicken sandwich as well.
Step 4
Let’s make a delicious sauce! In a bowl, combine 4 Tbsp mayonnaise, 3 Tbsp mustard sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Step 5
Now, let’s assemble the tortilla chicken wrap. Lay a tortilla flat and spread a generous amount of the prepared sauce in the center. Add fresh lettuce and julienned bell peppers on top. Place the cooked chicken tender(s) on the vegetables, drizzle more sauce over the chicken, and fold half a slice of cheddar cheese to place on top.
Step 6
Fold in the sides of the tortilla to secure the fillings. Then, starting from the bottom edge, roll it up tightly to form a neat chicken wrap.
Step 7
Cut the finished chicken wrap in half for easier handling. This prevents the fillings from falling out. You can wrap it in parchment paper or foil for extra stability.
Step 8
Next, let’s make the chicken sandwich. Spread the prepared sauce on both slices of bread. Layer a generous amount of fresh lettuce on one slice. Place 2 chicken tenders on top. (I considered keeping them for myself, but decided to share for a delicious sandwich!) Instead of bell peppers, add a drizzle of ketchup for a zesty touch to the sandwich.
Step 9
Place one slice of cheddar cheese on top of the chicken tenders. Spread sauce on the remaining slice of bread and place it on top to complete the sandwich.
Step 10
Finally, cut the chicken sandwich in half. And there you have it – a satisfying chicken wrap made with tortillas and a classic chicken sandwich made with bread, all ready to be enjoyed! Bon appétit.
