- A little canola oil or cooking oil
- 1.5 Tbsp of versatile garlic sugar
- 1 Tbsp of savory oyster sauce
- A pinch of fresh black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp of aromatic sesame oil
- A little canola oil or cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the ‘versatile garlic sugar’ that will be the flavor base for this fried rice. (Refer to recipe @6875016 for details).
Step 2
Gather the ingredients for the fried rice, aside from the star, the garlic sugar. Feel free to use up any leftover vegetables or ingredients you have in your refrigerator. For children, adding plenty of seaweed flakes or cheese will transform it into a more exciting and special dish.
Step 3
Heat a pan with a little canola oil. Add the finely chopped green onions and sauté until fragrant, creating a delicious green onion oil. Once the sweet aroma of the green onions is released, add the cooked rice and oyster sauce. Stir-fry until the ingredients are well combined and the rice becomes slightly crispy.
Step 4
Tip: Finely mincing the green onions will make them softer and more enjoyable when stir-fried. Lightly beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Since we’ll be using oyster sauce for seasoning, you don’t need to add salt to the eggs. Given recent concerns about egg safety, it’s recommended to use eggs with verified safety numbers. It’s saddening that we have to be so cautious even with something as basic as eggs.
Step 5
Once the rice is somewhat stir-fried, push it to one side of the pan. Pour the beaten eggs into the empty space. As the eggs begin to set, quickly scramble them with chopsticks until they are about 60-70% cooked and still moist. If you want to minimize cleanup, you can cook everything in one pan like this.
Step 6
When the scrambled eggs are about 60-70% cooked and still soft, mix them with the rice that was pushed to the side. Stir-fry together. Now for the main event! Add the prepared versatile garlic sugar, black pepper, and sesame oil. Stir-fry quickly until all ingredients are well combined.
Step 7
Wow, the color looks incredibly appetizing, and the aroma is wonderful! It’s delicious as is, but if you get that feeling of, ‘Mom, this is just fried rice today?’, perhaps from a child’s voice, transfer the fried rice to a microwave-safe container.
Step 8
Cut the cheddar cheese into bite-sized pieces and place it on top of the fried rice. Microwave for about 30 seconds until the cheese is melted.
Step 9
Finally, sprinkle some parsley flakes for color and a generous amount of crispy seaweed flakes to complete this delicious garlic sugar fried rice!
Step 10
Taking a spoonful, the sweet aroma of garlic, the tender scrambled eggs, and the perfectly cooked rice grains create a fantastic harmony. It’s truly a special dish!
