How to Make a Super Easy Garlic Chicken Rice Bowl
This is a wonderfully simple chicken rice bowl made with tender chicken thigh meat.
Ingredients- 1 pack chicken thigh meat (about 300g)
- 20cm leek
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 2 cloves sliced garlic)
- 2 bowls of rice
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp salt
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the leek by chopping it into roughly 20cm lengths. Heat a pan, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, and gently sauté the chopped leek over medium-low heat to create leek oil. Sautéing until the leek releases its sweet aroma will significantly deepen the flavor of your rice bowl.
Step 2
Once the leek aroma is fragrant, add the chicken thigh meat, cut into bite-sized pieces, to the pan and cook. Stir-fry until the chicken turns opaque and is cooked through. Chicken thigh is perfect for rice bowls because of its tender texture.
Step 3
When the chicken is about halfway cooked, add 2 cloves of minced garlic (or 2 cloves of sliced garlic) and continue to sauté. Cooking the garlic with the chicken allows its pungent flavor to infuse into the meat, making it even more delicious. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 4
Once the chicken thigh meat is almost fully cooked, add 1 teaspoon of salt to season the dish. Stir well to ensure the salt is evenly distributed and the chicken is fully cooked. This final stir will help the flavors meld together.
Step 5
Serve the delicious garlic chicken stir-fry generously over two bowls of warm rice. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added nutty flavor. Your delightful Garlic Chicken Rice Bowl is now ready to enjoy!
