  • Cooking Time : Within 5 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Basic Ingredients
  • 1 bowl of warm cooked rice
  • 1 fresh egg

Flavor Enhancers (Optional)
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil (for extra aroma!)
  • Ketchup to taste (kids love it!)
  • A pinch of sesame seeds (for added nuttiness!)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, place 1 bowl of warm cooked rice into a microwave-safe bowl. Crack 1 fresh egg on top of the rice. Make sure to break the yolk with a spoon or fork and mix it thoroughly with the rice. Breaking the yolk is key for even mixing!

Step 2

Now for the flavor! Drizzle 1 tablespoon of soy sauce evenly over the rice and egg mixture. If you’d like a richer flavor, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for an extra fragrant touch. Mix everything together well with a spoon until combined.

Step 3

Next, we’ll cook the mixture in the microwave. Place the bowl in the microwave and heat for about 1 minute and 30 seconds (based on a 700W microwave). The egg will cook and create a wonderfully soft texture among the rice grains.

Step 4

If the rice still seems a bit moist or undercooked after the first heating, microwave it for an additional 30 seconds. Once it reaches your desired consistency, it’s ready! For an extra touch of flavor, add ketchup and a pinch of sesame seeds, then mix and enjoy. Isn’t that incredibly simple?
